Assignment #2- Numbers

Seven
There are Seven Harry Potter Books

 Sixteen
the Vermeer  painting this was based off of was painted in the 1600s
 Nineteen
In Mormon Culture, at age 19, the Men serve missions

Twenty Two
this is a catch 22. either you eat the beans and get bad gas, or you don't eat the beans and you remain famished

Thirty-Eight
okay this one needs an explaination...during my process i decided to use the numbers behind the camera, so for frames 35 to 50 i used the number of the frame to tell me how many steps i had to take for the next picture (i.e. after i took this picture, i took 39 steps for the next picture)
 Forty-Five
(see explanation above)
Fifty Five

At first i thought this assignment would be a piece of cake and i was set on keeping creative juices flowing for all 100 frames. once i hit about 60, i was pooped, i simply did not have the energy (but mostly time) to find any more creative ways to show numbers. so i took some fabric and just shaped them into the rest of the numbers.  In all honestly, i hated this assignment. but nonetheless it was good for me. I think what i learned most from it was that the tripod is my friend if i want any chance at high quality pictures.

For this Assignment I brought a few friends along with me on a photosafari.
Because i shoot alot of people, i wanted to make sure that i composed them in an interesting way.
I learned that it's hard to take pictures without a concept,
but sometimes that drives me to think of different compositions.
With that in mind i think i'll be able to better compose my images
when i start to explore certain concepts and emotions in later assignments

(what i got pictures of for the scavenger hunt: something red, a friend, and a tree)

i don't want to post this.

but i'm obedient
so here is the same picture, as ugly as i could bear to make it.

goals for this class

I would like to learn the technical skills which will help me to express the way i perceive the world.

i'd also like to learn how to do studio lighting.

i would also (like every other person in utah with a camera) like to be able to shoot engagements and weddings. particularly coming up with concepts behind engagements so that i can create an identity as a photographer who goes beyond kissy pictures and hand holding.

what i will not photograph in this class
